Below the 20% minimum & top-up

As part of the process of protecting the value of the Passive Owner, the Resident Owner must maintain at least 20% ownership. If the Ownership register shows ownership is close to this, the Passive Partnership Administrator can request an independent valuation to confirm whether that is the case. If the Resident Owner's ownership is below 20%, this calculator shows how additional top-up payments are calculated. This valuation-and-top-up safeguard is part of why default risk is so low here.

Position after revaluation

If the Resident Owner's share falls below the minimum, they have (by default) up to 5 years to restore it — via a lump sum, regular top-up payments, or by improving the property and getting a new valuation.
